Early Friday morning, news broke of President Donald Trump and the first lady both testing positive for COVID-19, and now his physician has shared the president’s treatment plan.

The news sent a shockwave across both political parties as White House aides and advisers were urgently tested. Vice President Mike Pence and his wife received negative results, and so did Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, and her husband, Jared Kushner.

Additionally, Democratic nominee Joe Biden and his wife tested negative. And so did his running mate Sen. Kamala Harris and her husband.

Now, the physician to the president has released a memo sharing a health update on Trump and his treatment plan. The memo read:

“Following PCR-confirmation of the President’s diagnosis, as a precautionary measure he received a single 8 gram dose of Regeneron’s polyclonal antibody cocktail. He completed the infusion without incident. In addition to the polyclonal antibodies, the President has been taking zinc, Vitamin D, famotidine, melatonin and a daily aspirin.”

“As of this afternoon the President remains fatigued but in good spirits. He’s being evaluated by a team of experts, and together we will be making recommendations to the President and First Lady in regards to next best steps.”

“First Lady Melania Trump remains well with only a mild cough and headache, and the remainder of the First Family are well and tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 today.”

Campaign of Donald Trump Upended After Positive Tests

With only six weeks until election day, Donald Trump’s positive diagnosis has turned his presidential campaign upside down. He may not be able to continue his in-person campaign rallies. In addition, he may have to face Democratic nominee Joe Biden virtually in the next debate in two weeks.

Ivanka Trump took to Twitter to share prayers for her father and step-mother.

“Praying for the swift recovery of my father and Melania and for all those impacted by COVID-19. As they fight this together, the President will continue to fight for the people of this great country,” she wrote.

Kushner played a prime role in the administration’s pandemic response. In fact, early on he took charge of a task force meant to obtain millions of personal protective equipment – including masks for essential workers.

Recently, a former employee of Kushner’s team recently went public with a harsh account of its performance. The volunteer team’s lack of experience in public health or logistics “distressed and disturbed” the employee. He claimed that employees had to use their own laptops for front-line federal government work. Furthermore, he said he received pressure to create a data model “fudging the predicted number of fatalities”.
