Donald Trump in Middle of Golfing When Election Called, Social Media Loses It

When the election was called for Joe Biden, Donald Trump was on the golf course, according to several media outlets. And Twitter is having a lot of fun at the soon-to-be-former president’s expense.

While it was his 307th golf outing since taking office, this one was especially notable and followed by media closely. There are even photos of Trump taken the second Biden won.

To make matters worse, there were protesters along the route from the White House to his course in Virginia with signs that read “Good riddance,” the Guardian reported.

The ride home wasn’t any better. The Washington Post’s Libby Casey pointed out that by the time the president had returned to Washington, D.C., the city had transformed.

“Pres Trump is on his way back to the White House after golfing at his club in VA. He was golfing when the race was called by major news orgs. He returns to a city transformed: a huge, joyful crowd gathered outside the WH to cheer Biden’s win…. and Trump’s loss,” she wrote.

Donald Trump: ‘This Election is Far From Over’

But this won’t be the end of it. While the news and media outlets called the race for Biden, Trump has said he is not accepting the results. He also said to expect hard-fought legal battles to play out in the courts, Politico said.

‘The simple fact is this election is far from over,” his campaign said Saturday. “Joe Biden has not been certified as the winner of any states, let alone any of the highly contested states headed for mandatory recounts, or states where our campaign has valid and legitimate legal challenges that could determine the ultimate victor.

“In Pennsylvania, for example, our legal observers were not permitted meaningful access to watch the counting process. Legal votes decide who is president, not the news media.”
