Dunkin’ Donuts is Releasing an IPA-Flavored Donut in September

Collaborating for the third year, Dunkin’ Donuts and Harpoon Brewery are teaming up for Dunkin’-inspired beers. A special event will even offer attendees the chance to buy an IPA-flavored donut.

Celebrating the beers’ release in September, the Dunkin’ Walk-Thru event is Monday, August 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Harpoon Brewery will host the event, giving Boston fans an opportunity to test out the beer ahead of its release.

Additionally, those who buy one of the new beers at the walk-thru will get a free donut. This donut is available exclusively at the event. The Dunkin’ Harpoon IPA donut contains Harpoon IPA jelly with malt crumble topping it off. Dunkin’ has never made a donut with beer as an ingredient before. Since the donut may contain trace amounts of alcohol, you must be older than 21 to order one.

Harpoon Brewery’s CEO and co-founder, Dan Kenary, issued a statement about the two companies teaming up, according to Masslive.com.

“Our collaborations with Dunkin’ are highly anticipated by our fans each fall, so this year we wanted to help them crack a cold one open just a little earlier. Our Dunkin’ Walk-Thru experience takes everything we love about ordering Dunkin’ at a traditional Drive-Thru with the addition of a first taste of our new beers.”

New Dunkin’ Beers Coming

Harpoon Brewery’s new flavors are Harpoon Dunkin’ Pumpkin Spiced Latte Ale, Harpoon Dunkin’ Blueberry matcha IPA, Harpoon Dunkin’ Maple Creme Blonde Ale, and Harpoon Dunkin’ Midnight American Porter.

Vice President of Retail Business Development at Dunkin’ shares Kenary’s enthusiasm for the collaboration.

“Beer, matcha, coffee, and donuts, we can’t think of a better combination.”

Those curious will have the chance to try the new beer on draft and in bottled 6-packs beginning in September. Further, you can even use a Harpoon beer finder to help find them.

Dunkin’ Donuts Adds Coconut Milk To Menu

Besides the beer collaboration, Dunkin’ Donuts added coconut milk to their menu earlier this year.

Jill Nelson, Vice President, Marketing & Culinary at Dunkin’, announced the exciting combinations offered with coconut milk in April.

“The start of the summer season is the perfect time to expand our menu with coconut milk, another exciting non-dairy choice for our guests. From our colorful Dunkin’ Coconut Refreshers to our creamy Coconutmilk Iced Latte, Dunkin’ is crafting the coolest coconut milk beverages to keep our guests refreshed and running, throughout summer and all year-long.”

The coconut refreshers contain flavored fruit concentrate, B vitamins, and coconut milk. Those interested can purchase three different flavors. Pink Strawberry has strawberries and dragonfruit. Golden Peach features peach and passion fruit. Finally, Purple Pomegranate includes blueberries and pomegranate.

Like many other organizations, Dunkin’ said they were exploring more plant-based, non-dairy options for their menu. Previously pairing with Blue Diamond, Dunkin’ also added almond milk in 2014.
