Florida Park Turns Over Video Footage from Campsite Where Brian Laundrie and Family Stayed To FBI

The Florida Park where Brian Laundrie and his family stayed in early September has turned over security cam footage to the FBI. The park, Fort De Soto Park, became an area of interest after Duane Chapman, also known as “Dog the Bounty Hunter” announced he was searching there and believed Laundrie and his family were in the area early this month.

Laundrie’s lawyer soon confirmed that the family went camping there. It appears they were there on September 6th-8th. On September 1st, Brian Laundrie arrived back at his parent’s home in Florida after traveling across the country in a van with his girlfriend, Gabby Petito. However, while Laundrie returned with the Van, he did not return with Petito. Petito’s parents reported her missing on September 11th. On September 14th, news broke that Brian Laundrie had gone missing as well.

Petito’s body was discovered in Wyoming on September 19th and her death has been ruled a homicide. Laundrie is still missing. The FBI and the North Port Police have searched the nearby nature reserve where his parents said he was going, but have had no luck.

But when Dog the Bounty Hunter got involved, he quickly got tips to look into Florida’s Fort De Soto Park, where Brian and his parents were seen early this September before Gabby was reported missing. It turns out, they were actually there. Now, a source has told Fox News that Surveillance footage from the park is now being used as a part of the investigation.

The Search For Brian Laundrie Continues

The outlet also obtained records from the park that prove that Brian Laundrie’s mother, Roberta, did check in there. The park is about 75 miles north of their family home, which has since been flooded with protestors since the case began to unfold publicly.

There are multiple witnesses who saw the Laundrie family in the area at the time. One man Thomas Rutherford, noted that he remembered seeing the family because he remembered their trailer.

On Tuesday, Chapman raised concerns about the family camping at this time when they didn’t even know where Gabbie was.

Laundrie has been named a person of interest in Gabbie’s disappearance. Last Thursday, the FBI put out an arrest warrant for Laundrie for Bank Card fraud. Laundrie allegedly used someone’s Capital One bank card and PIN during the time when Petito went missing.

The whereabouts of Brian Laundrie remain unknown. There are currently two major searches underway. The official police search known to the public continues to focus on the nearby Carlton reserve. Meanwhile, Chapman is conducting his own investigation by Fort De Soto Park. There are multiple islands in the region and it looks like he’s brought in his own private team of dogs. Still, no word yet on Brian.
