Ford Launches ‘Proud To Honor’ Merchandise To Support Military Charities

Ford Motor Company has a long history of honoring our servicemen and women. Henry Ford said, “The only foundation of real business is service.” From building the anti-submarine patrol boats to hiring disabled veterans, Ford lived out those words daily. Now, over 100 years later, the company continues its dedication to the military by raising awareness and strengthening programs through the “Proud To Honor” initiative.

While Proud To Honor is no new initiative by the company, as they have organized donations and support through the plan for about a year, the merchandise sales are a brand new addition to the site.

Ford announced the newly available merchandise via Facebook on Wednesday afternoon.

Proud To Honor directly betters two military charities. 100% of Ford’s profits will go to Disable American Veterans (DAV) and Blue Star Families.

DAV mentions the incredible long-lasting partnership with the car company, in a statement on their site. ‘Ford has been a valuable friend and partner to DAV for nearly a century since Henry Ford provided 50 Model T Ford vehicles to help disabled World War I veterans attend the organization’s second national convention in 1922.” explains DAV National Adjutant Marc Burgess. “

The online merchandise store features hats, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and bags. They also sell decals and tumblers.

Proud To Honor’s webpage also specifically points to the impact they’ve made in the military community. In November of 2019, Proud To Honor organized a surprise visit from a football legend to a retired U.S. Marine. Furthermore, in May, Ford donated Covid-19 face shields to U.S. military bases.
