Former Collegiate and NFL star defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth is back in the news after a recent altercation resulting in his arrest.

According to TMZ Sports, Haynesworth was arrested on Monday for domestic violence and disorderly conduct. His arrest stems from an alleged incident involving his former girlfriend, Brittany Jackson. The report alleges a shouting match altercation erupted between the two former University of Tennessee athletes.

law enforcement officers came to the home of Jackson’s current boyfriend in Cleveland, Tennessee, around 4:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon. Haynesworth allegedly showed up to the house and began verbally assaulting the couple.

Jackson told officers Haynesworth drove over two hours from his Franklin, Tennessee residence to confront her and her boyfriend after making violent threats over the phone.

Haynesworth, who stands 6’6″ and weighs over 350 pounds, was brought to the Bradley County Justice Center. He bonded out of custody shortly after his arrival.

Officials say the former NFL All-Pro did not physically harm Jackson or her partner. He did, however, pose a threat of causing physical harm.

It isn’t first run-in with law enforcement for the former couple. Haynesworth claims to have called police on Jackson a double-digit number of times during their relationship.

In 2017, Haynesworth claims Jackson “kicked him in the nuts” resulting in a domestic violence incident.

Haynesworth was a first round pick of the Tennessee Titan out of the University of Tennessee in the 2012 NFL draft. He spent seven years with the Titans, twice earning NFL All-Pro honors in 2007 and 2008. In addition to his time as a Titan, he had a stint with the Washington Redskins. He also played for the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
