Following her interview with Good Morning America on Friday (September 17th), Cassie Laundrie, the sister of Gabby Petito’s fiancee Brian Laundrie, has revealed the last text message she received from the missing woman.
ABC affiliate reporter, Kristin Thorne, took to Twitter account to share some pictures of some postcards that Cassie received from Gabby Petito. She also included the text message exchange between her and Petito.
“Ahhh oh my gosh I can’t believe school started already,” Gabby Petito wrote. “Haha, I saw your post on Instagram! So cute!! Send me the pictures of the boys to show Brian! Lol, and I love their backpacks too!!”
Gabby Petito also wrote that she and Brian were at the arches and didn’t have the best WiFi. The couple did send mail though. Brian’s sister responded, “Hey! Hopefully, these pics come through then. They had a great day, loved school! Can’t wait to go back tomorrow. Happy boys.”
Along with the text messages, Cassie shared the postcards from Gabby Petito, which showed they stopped at the Dixie National Forest in Utah. This was right before the couple was stopped by police over Gabby allegedly assaulted Brian over a dispute.
Travel Blogger Jen Bethune Describes Her Encounter of Gabby Petito’s Van
During an interview with Fox News on Monday, travel blogger, Jen Bethune, revealed some shocking details about her encounter with Gabby Petito’s van. “I am so sad that we couldn’t bring [Gabby Petito] back alive, “Bethune told the media outlet’s Ainsley Earnhardt. “But to be able to bring her back to her family or to help with that is everything.”
Bethune then stated that despite investigators finding a body that matches the description of Petito, she said it was “heartwarming” to at least bring the missing 22-year-old’s family closure. Bethune then recalled seeing Gabby Petito’s van for the first time. “The reason why we noticed the van is because we’re from Florida. And the van had Florida [license] plates. We wanted to stop by and say hi.”
But when Bethune approached Petito’s van, she noticed that it was very dark, closed up, and look like there was no activity. “So we ended up continuing to drive.”
Bethune then admitted she noticed the van in her blogging footage. Someone even tagged her in a story urging anyone in the Tetons at the end of August to look through photos and videos for clues of Gabby Petito’s disappearance. That’s when Bethune saw the images of Gabby Petito’s van. “I got chills over my body and ran straight back to my lap. [I] got my GoPro footage, and lo and behold Gabby’s van was on there.”
Gabby Petito’s fiancee, Brian Laundrie, is currently considered a person of interest in her disappearance case. He also went missing on September 14th. His parents reported him missing on September 17th. He has yet to be found.
