Another interesting turn of events in the Gabby Petito case. There has been an arrest warrant issued for Brian Laundrie. In response to that warrant, the Laundrie family lawyer has released a statement. There have been a number of revelations in the past two days.

While there was speculation when the arrest warrant went out, it has been cleared up. At least, it has been somewhat cleared up. The Laundrie family attorney released this statement today that Shannon Clowe of 10 Tampa Bay shared on Twitter.

The statement read, “It is my understanding that the arrest warrant for Brian Laundrie is related to activities occurring after the death of Gabby Petito and not related to her actual demise. The FBI is focusing on locating Brian and when that occurs the specifics of the charges covered under the indictment will be addressed in the proper forum.”

Per the warrant, Laundrie “knowingly and with intent to defraud, used one or more unauthorized access devices, namely a Capitol One Bank debit card.” Laundrie is still technically a person of interest and not a suspect at the time of writing

Recently, officials announced that Petito’s death was a homicide. Until the full results of the autopsy are released, a cause of death will likely remain unknown.

Meanwhile, Laundrie is still missing. While law enforcement thought he was spotted with a trail cam, it turned out not to be the man they were looking for. He is likely still out and surviving in the wilderness. He apparently has the experience and is “well-versed” at surviving in the wild. Law enforcement continues their search for the person of interest.

Laundrie Family Silent about Brian amid Gabby Petito Case

Currently, Brian Laundrie has been missing for nine days. He arrived back at his parent’s home in North Port, Florida on September 1. However, noticeably Gabby Petito was not with him. Officials have recovered the remains of Petito and have been looking for Laundrie since September 17. That is when his parents reported him missing.

He apparently went on a hiking trip. He has not returned from that trip and could still be in the wilderness. His family insists they have no information about his location or where he could be. The family attorney, Steven Bertolino, has been speaking on behalf of them for the most part.

There has been an outcry from Laundrie’s neighbors. Multiple neighbors have urged the 23-year-old to turn himself into authorities. One neighbor, Charlene Guthrie lives across the street from the family. She spoke about Brian and the family after he got home without Gabby Petito.

“He mowed the lawn. He and his mother went for a bicycle ride around the block,
Guthrie said. “I mean, everything was just normal life once he came back. And I just can’t get over the fact that they – it seemed like nothing bothered him. How can you do that?”

The search continues.
