Gabby Petito Case: Brian Laundrie Slammed the ‘Media’ in His Instagram Bio

Internet sleuths have really dug into the case of missing 22-year-old hiker Gabby Petito. After her body was discovered on Sept. 19, the sleuths soon turned to her missing partner, Brian Laundrie.

Chris and Roberta Laundrie reported their 23-year-old son missing on Sept. 17, saying they hadn’t seen him since Sept. 14. It’s been two weeks now, and authorities still haven’t located the missing man.

At this point, the police haven’t charged him with anything in Gabby Petito’s death. But they’d still like to talk to him about his side of events since her death’s been ruled a homicide. They do have a warrant out for his arrest for fraud, however, after he used someone else’s debit card during Petito’s disappearance.

Since his disappearance, more and more people online suspect his involvement in Gabby Petito’s death. He and his parents refused to speak on what happened, communicating solely through a lawyer named Steven Bertolino.

Whether or not Brian Laundrie is guilty of anything, we do know that he has very specific viewpoints on different topics. According to his Instagram bio, The Sun reports, Laundrie takes a fierce stance against “the media.”

In addition to telling his followers to “Take a hike every day,” Laundrie also wrote, “Bug bites are better than being brainwashed by the media.”

Gabby Petito herself revealed that Laundrie is big into nature (and bug bites, apparently). But it’s very telling that he used the word “brainwashing” to describe the media. It speaks to a slanted view of what’s represented of our world and the people in it. At this point, we don’t know if Laundrie’s bio always read this, or if it changed recently after the media slammed him for running and hiding.

Brian Laundrie Still on the Loose in Gabby Petito Case, But the Dog Is on His Trail

While authorities searched Carlton Reserve near North Port, Florida, Dog the Bounty Hunter explored a different route. He tracked Laundrie to Fort De Soto Park in Florida. The bounty hunter claims registration records and camera footage show Laundrie and his parents visiting the park before he went missing.

According to Dog, the Laundries visited from Sept. 1-3 and Sept. 6-8. But while three people entered the park, only two left during the second trip.

“We think at least if he’s not here right now, we are sure he was caught on camera as he went in the gate — that he was here for sure. Not over in the swamp,” Dog told Fox News.

Police haven’t yet searched Fort De Soto Park. At this point, they continue to check out Carlton Reserve for signs of Laundrie.
