Following the frenzy surrounding Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie, the family is now letting people know they don’t want them lurking on the property. Just days after Brian Laundrie’s remains were located, his father Chris was spotted planting a couple ‘no trespassing’ signs in his yard.

In front of their North Port, Florida home, the Laundries are being flooded with mixed messages from protesters. People have left hateful signs and taunted the Laundries for their silence. It appears with the news of Brian’s death, the family has had enough.

While planting the signs in his yard, a photographer was heard telling Chris Laundrie, “I’m sorry for your loss.” The late 23-year-old’s dad thanked the photographer before heading inside and gathering some flowers that were left on the porch.

Brian initially went missing in mid-September. He left the Florida home bound for the Carlton Nature Reserve. After five weeks, this is where authorities located his skeletal remains. He returned home alone to Florida after he and Gabby Petito were traveling the country in their converted van. Gabby’s murder occurred in Wyoming. Her cause of death was manual strangulation. She was with Brian before he returned home alone. Suspicions of his involvement led investigators on a nationwide manhunt. However, his tragic demise leaves no immediate justice or answers for Gabby.

Gabby Petito Case Has Little Answers About What Happened

The Laundries came under harsh scrutiny after hiring a lawyer and refusing to speak to authorities. Many people thought the move was “cowardly.” However, neither Brian or his parents were suspects in the case. He was a person of interest and officers wanted to speak with him.

Despite the sad details of Gabby and Brian, friends of theirs say they had a toxic relationship. Gabby and Brian dated on and off for a couple years. The two recently became engaged. Then, in July, the couple prepared to take a four month long road trip through national and state parks.

However, something happened in Wyoming where Gabby’s body was found on September 19. A Teton County coroner believes Gabby was dead for three to four weeks before being found. The 22-year-old’s family reported her missing on Sept. 11. They did not hear from Gabby since the end of August and grew concerned.

Because the case received so much attention, officials are using it to shed light on domestic violence in relationships. The Petito family also started a foundation in Gabby’s name. It’s mission is to find missing people.

While the Gabby Petito case is tragic, officials are hoping that belongings found near Brian’s remains will help solve what happened to the young woman. Brian’s cause of death is unknown at this time. Officials released a statement saying a forensic anthropologist will have to determine how the young man died.
