Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman just announced that he is adding another $10,000 to the reward for information leading to Brian Laundrie’s arrest. This brings the total reward money to $180,000. The majority of these funds come from private donations as well as Gabby Petito’s family. According to one of Chapman’s representatives, the bounty hunter hopes the extra money will help uncover Laundrie’s location.

Chapman is currently searching a remote island off the coast of Florida. Previously, the bounty hunter claimed that the area’s rugged terrain has slowed his search. However, he believes that he is steadily closing in on Brian Laundrie.

Meanwhile, North Carolina officers are scouring the state’s section of the Appalachian Trail, per reports of sightings of Brian Laundrie. Earlier this week, Chapman’s daughter, Lyssa, advised followers to stay alert while in the area and to check trail cameras for any possible footage of the fugitive. Since then, the Watauga County police have been investigating credible tips that place Laundrie in the area.

While Brian Laundrie’s location is still unknown, the FBI, state police departments, and Duane Chapman have not let up on their efforts. Since the search began two weeks ago, the FBI focused much of its attention on its first lead regarding Laundrie’s whereabouts, the Carlton Reserve in Florida. However, after a thorough search, they are exploring new potential areas in and out of Laundrie’s home state.

Newly Released Bodycam Footage Reveals More of the Domestic Dispute with Brian Laundrie and Gabby Petito

As investigators continue to investigate incoming tips, they are also still receiving new information from previous interactions with Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie. This includes the domestic dispute call in which Moab police officers pulled over the couple while traveling through Utah.

From prior footage, we learned that Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie were fighting over a cell phone, per the witness’ 911 call. Laundrie then locked Petito out of their van and both ended up with scratches on them. Once police separated the two, Laundrie claimed to not have his cellphone, minutes before pulling it out of his pocket. The officers then encouraged the two to spend the night away from each other, putting Laundrie in a hotel. Meanwhile, Petito slept in their van alone. This was one of the last known interactions with Petito before her death.

Another clip from the officers’ bodycam footage has since revealed new details in the matter. While speaking with Petito, officers inquired about the scratches on her face and arm. At first, Petito claimed she didn’t remember or did not know how the injuries occurred. After some encouragement, though, Petito stated that Laundrie had grabbed her face and dug his nail into her cheek, leaving a small cut. However, she quickly added that she had hit him first.
