The developments in Gabby Petito’s case continue to raise questions. Many among the masses are still concerned with learning the person responsible for her slaying.

In a statement given by Attorney Richard Stafford, he addresses the public’s hunger for official comments. “The family was asked to not comment and let the FBI continue their investigation and allow the United States Attorney’s Office to make a determination on whether any additional individuals will be charged,” Stafford says.

Haunting Developments Continue to Roll In

This statement comes shortly after a forensic anthropologist determined Petito’s fiance, Brian Laundrie, died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Officials sent Laundrie’s remains away for further investigation after locating them last month. However, the initial autopsy came back inconclusive.

Some theorize this delay came due to the fact that authorities found Laundrie’s remains submerged underwater.

Laundries death, now determined a suicide, comes following what some people find to be a disturbing series of events. Laundrie returned home from the couple’s road trip alone in September, despite driving Petito’s van to get there. 10 days later, Gabby Petito’s family reported her missing. A week after this report, authorities discovered her remains. In conjunction with this, Brian Laundrie went missing just 3 days after Petito. Despite encouragement from the FBI and Petito’s family for Laundrie to turn himself in, these pleads led to no avail. The discovery of Laundries remains comes over a month following his disappearance.

Sights Set on the Laundrie Family

People following this case on social media seem to feel similarly about potentially odd behavior from the Laundrie family.

However, the only strange behavior confirmed by investigators is that the family’s initial timeline of events in regards to their son Brian’s disappearance differed from what they later recounted. Laundrie remains the sole person of interest in the case of Gabby Petito’s disappearance and murder. Many people following this case are yearning for new developments. However, the Laundrie family lawyer says he is confident his client is in the clear. When asked about the possibility of charges being brought against them, Attorney Stephen Bertolino says,  “I have no reason to believe any charges will be filed against Chris and Roberta Laundrie [Brian Laundrie’s parents] with respect to this case.”
