Meanwhile, Gabby Petito’s fiancee, Brian Laundrie, is still missing after he was deemed a suspect in the case and questioned. The North Port Police Department recently defended its approach to questioning Laundrie.
A spokesperson of the police department, Josh Taylor, revealed to Fox News on Sunday that the department really has no authority to execute a possible federal search warrant on their own. “I don’t see how anyone without all the facts, in this case, can come up with a reasonable conclusion and opinion on the matter.”
Taylor then added that investigators have still not established whether a crime took place in Florida or out west.
