Following the confirmed death of 22-year-old Gabby Petito, authorities continue the search for Brian Laundrie, the young woman’s still-missing 23-year-old boyfriend. As a result, reports and sightings of Laundrie’s whereabouts since his disappearance continue to come to the public eye. Authorities have since created a map of significant Laundrie sightings.

According to The Sun, “numerous” Brian Laundrie sightings have been reported to authorities. The reports were made across a variety of states including Florida, Alabama, and more. Laundrie’s timeline begins on August 27th where a TikToker claimed she dropped Laundrie off. Soon after, on September 1st, the 23-year-old returned to his Florida home without Gabby.

Nothing further ensues until September 14th when Laundrie reportedly went for a hike in Florida’s massive Carlton Reserve. His parents reported him missing several days later. On the 17th, a passerby saw a man walking two blocks from Laundrie’s home which authorities are still looking into.

Law enforcement located Gabby Petito’s body on the 19th. A day later, a man’s body was found in AL though police have since confirmed it was not Laundrie. Additionally, the 20th also saw a man resembling Laundrie caught on an Okaloosa County, FL trail cam, which law enforcement investigated and found nothing of substance.

Meanwhile, The Sun further reported that Alabama has seen a host of Brian Laundrie sightings although many turned nothing up. The outlet stated authorities received more than a dozen reports across the state on Monday. In response to the ongoing situation and continued reports, Mobile County Sheriff’s Officer, Captain Paul Burch said, “We’ve dispatched a vehicle for each and every call and verified that the person was not Laundrie.”

Southern Law Enforcement Remain Vigilant in Search for Brian Laundrie

Brian Laundrie went missing over a week ago. Now, following Petito’s death, Americans across the South have their eyes peeled for any sign of the missing man.

However, while investigators are desperate for information, one man walking Mississippi’s Interstate 10 caused quite an uproar earlier this week. Law enforcement received upwards of seven calls surrounding the hitchhiking man though, again, was not Laundrie. Regardless, officers went and each time found the same man. Finally, Burch said, “Give him a ride to the state line, and that way we won’t be getting calls and tying up units unnecessarily.”

On the other hand, potential sightings of Brian Laundrie came closer to the man’s home in North Port Florida on Friday. The report made one of the map highlights above.

Apparently, a passerby had seen the man and snapped a photo. The blurry image depicts a bald man with flip flops, a gray shirt, sunglasses, and headphones. However, there was one distinction as the man in the photo has a tattoo on his left arm. Brian Laundrie does not.

North Port Police are looking into the photo although they believe there’s a good chance it’s not actually Laundrie. However, The Sun reported that according to metadata, the photo of the man was taken about an hour and a half before Laundrie’s parents reported their son missing to local law enforcement.
