New details are emerging from the Gabby Petito case. Her remains have been recovered and the death ruled a homicide.

At the moment, there isn’t an official cause of death. Those results are pending a full autopsy. Brian Laundrie is still a person of interest in the case.

While it has not been determined how Gabby was killed, it has unfortunately been ruled a homicide. In the release from the FBI, it detailed exactly what went into concluding the manner of death. It is important to remember that the manner of death is not the same as the cause of death. The cause of death is more detailed and specific.

“Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue confirmed the remains are those of Gabrielle [Gabby] Venora Petito, date of birth March 19, 1999. Coroner Blue’s initial determination for the manner of death is homicide. The cause of death remains pending final autopsy results.” FBI Denver tweeted out the release.

Right now, the FBI has also finished its search of the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area. That is where Petito went missing.

“The forensic search ahs concluded of the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area and law enforcement has released the area. The FBI is seeking information from anyone who utilized the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area between the dates of August 27-30, 2021, who may have had contact with Ms. Petito or Mr. Laundrie or who may have seen their vehicle.”

Also, the released thanked the public for their tips and assistance over the last couple of weeks. Folks on social media have been souring over videos, pictures, and articles trying to find any clue they can. Since the case garnered nationwide interest there have been tons of tips submitted to law enforcement.

Police Can’t Find Brian Laundrie, POI in Gabby Petito Case

It has been noted that Brian Laundrie has gone missing as well. He is NOT a suspect in the case. However, he is a person of interest. Police are looking for him after he went missing in Florida after arriving back home on September 1. Since then, there has been little seen of Laundrie.

One clue so far has been a trail cam located in the Florida wilderness. Law enforcement has followed up on the potential sighting. Despite the trail cam, police still have not been able to locate Laundrie. His family had canceled a press conference they scheduled for earlier in the day.

Currently, the Gabby Petito family is waiting. They are still waiting on the cause of death to be confirmed. Also, they are waiting to see what Laundrie is going to do. In the last two days, the family has been largely silent. They did have an interview with Dr. Phil air on television. However, that was recorded before Petito’s remains had been recovered.
