Gabby Petito: Dog the Bounty Hunter Hopes Walmart Security Cam Could Provide New Info on Brian Laundrie

For two weeks now, Dog the Bounty Hunter has conducted an independent search for Brian Laundrie’s whereabouts. He recently said he’s found invaluable information on a Walmart security camera that could lead to the suspect’s capture.

In an interview with The Sun, Dog – real name Duane Chapman – shared details about his recent search efforts. He says he’s made progress, and that he definitely thinks Brian Laundrie is alive and on the run.

“Is he still alive? Oh yeah. Yeah, he’s alive,” Dog the Bounty Hunter told The Sun.

“Do they wish we thought he was dead? Oh yeah. Do they wish that we thought that his body was being eaten by alligators? Oh yeah,” Chapman added.

Additionally, the bounty hunter shared his outlook on the ongoing case. Chapman said he originally thought Brian Laundrie didn’t mean to kill Gabby Petito while they were on a cross-country tour of America’s national parks, but his mind has changed.

“In the beginning, I thought [Gabby’s death] was not intentional – second degree involuntary [manslaughter],” he said. “Now, the way he’s running, I think it’s more than that.”

Laundrie returned to his Florida home on Sept. 1 in his fiancée’s van, but Petito was nowhere to be seen. On Sept. 19, authorities found Gabby’s body in Grand Teton National Park. Ever since he nor his parents have cooperated with the police. A couple of weeks later, Brian went missing, which led to a massive FBI-led manhunt in Central Florida.

As Dog the Bounty Hunter conducts his own investigation, he’s spent a lot of time collecting surveillance video evidence. He believes a local Walmart’s 24-hour surveillance footage could help track Laundrie down. Chapman detailed a trash can underneath the camera as a “criminal smorgasbord.”

Dog the Bounty Hunter Speculates That Brian Laundrie Could Be a Serial Killer

During another recent interview with The Sun, Dog the Bounty Hunter shared a further possibility about Brian Laundrie. He said that based on books Laundrie read, such as Chuck Palahniuk’s horror-satire novel Lullaby, they could be a sign that Brian is a serial killer.

“I’m thinking more and more about [Brian Laundrie] being maybe a serial killer. Not just a killer of Gabby,” Chapman told the outlet.

Chapman thinks certain books Laundrie read could have led to his dark thoughts and actions.

“This kid, Brian, has taken those books obviously to heart,” he continued. “And this is what happens when your kid is looking at those kinds of things. He just overnight just didn’t become a killer. A killer is made, and he is built to be or she, a killer.”

“Reading is different than any other consumption of media,” Dog the Bounty Hunter added. “It takes more effort than staring at a screen half alive. It allows you to use your brain rather than melt it. And there is no author more stimulating to me than Chuck Palahniuk.”
