Gabby Petito’s disappearance drew in a mass following after her parents reported her missing on September 11th. Since then, the public prayed for a good outcome. Despite the Laundrie family’s silence regarding their son and person of interest Brian Laundrie, tips started pouring in from across the country. One YouTuber’s footage allowed officials to narrow down their search for Gabby Petito. It led them to one specific camping site of the Grand Tetons National Park. Here, they, unfortunately, found a body consistent with Gabby’s description. On Tuesday, officials got to work on an autopsy. Later, they confirmed the body did belong to Gabby Petito and the death emerged as a homicide.

Police continue to search for Brian Laundrie in Florida, although the FBI is asking the public to keep an eye out for him anywhere. Neighbors, friends, and witnesses are coming forward with the little information they do have. The police continue to follow up on any and all potential sightings of Brian Laundrie, but so far, no contact has been made.

While Gabby’s parents begin to mourn this loss, their lawyer announced the family will make an official statement at a later time. For now, they are simply heartbroken.

Gabby Petito’s Parents Post in “Find Gabby” Group Online

Several different Facebook groups popped up over the past couple of weeks in order to provide a shared space for the public to swap any theories or leads surrounding the Gabby Petito case. Her own parents started one of the first of these groups titled “Find Gabby.” Since receiving news of her confirmed death, they posted a brief message there.

It reads: “our hearts are broken…..”

Following that emotional message, they also shared artwork depicting Gabby Petito as an angel.

Its caption reads simply “#justiceforgabby.”

As a reminder, this is the statement most recently made by their lawyer: “I want to personally thank the press and news media for giving the Petito and Schmidt family time to grieve. We will be making a statement when Gabby is home. I will contact you to arrange a time and location.”

The tributes for Gabby continue to pour in across state lines and the Florida tribute is now officially marked off to be preserved.

Police are Headed Back Into the Carlton Reserve

The search for Brian Laundrie continues Wednesday morning with a full arsenal of trained professionals. They want to cover as much area as possible before darkness makes the search impossible once again. Other difficulties of the Reserve terrain beside the scattered swamps include the dangers of alligators and snakes. Between Tuesday and the start of Wednesday, officials note nothing to report.
