On Sunday (September 26th), the funeral of Gabby Petito took place in Long Island, New York. As part of the event, a special memorial video by Moloney’s Holbrook Funeral Home was played. The video notably shared some beautiful highlights of the 22-year-old woman’s life, which included being a flower girl.
Other pictures in the sweet tribute video were Gabby Petito growing up and enjoying some family vacations, zip-lining, hiking trips, spending time with family, and more. “Gabby Petito 1999-2021,” was the 28-minute film’s caption.
Petito and her fiance Brian Laundrie left their Florida homes to go on a cross-country trip in Petito’s van. The couple took off on their adventure in June 2021. Everything seemed to be going well. Until August 12th when Petito and Laundrie has a domestic dispute. The couple separated that night and resumed their trip the next day.
Gabby Petito last spoke to her parents on August 25th. Laundrie returned to his parents’ home on September 1st in Petito’s van. The 22-year-old woman was not with him. Her parents filed a missing person’s report on September 11th. Laundrie refused to speak to the police about the situation. He then took off on a hiking trip in the Carlton Reserve on September 14th.
Days after Laundrie’s parents filed a missing person’s report, Gabby Petito’s body was recovered in the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. Laundrie is now a person of interest in the case. A $30,000 reward is for anyone who has any information about Laundrie’s disappearance.
FBI Visits the Home of Gabby Petito’s Fiance to Ask For Personal Items for DNA Matching
On Sunday, two FBI agents reportedly visited the home of Gabby Petito’s fiance to retrieve any personal items. The items are for “DNA matching.”
The Laundrie’s lawyer, Steven Bertolino, told the media outlet, “The FBI requested some personal items belonging to Brian Laundrie to assist them with DNA matching. And Brian’s parents provided the FBI with what they could.”
The FBI currently has Gabby Petito’s body while her family is using an empty urn during the funeral services. The federal organization has not provided the family with any timeline of when it will be returning the body. The cause of the 22-year-old’s death has not been revealed.
With the FBI and other law enforcement agencies, Dog the Bounty Hunter is also assisting in the search for Gabby Petito’s fiance. The reality TV star told Fox News this morning, “The reason I went to Mr. [Christopher] Laundrie is I carry a reputation with me. The reputation is, ‘He gives you a second chance. He’s gonna get you. But he gives you a second chance.”
