Gabby Petito’s Water Bottle Reportedly Found Near Brian Laundrie’s Remains

Did someone find Gabby Petito‘s water bottle?

TikTok user @ChronocilesofOlivia was searching Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park when she discovered the water bottle. The location was near where Brian Laundrie’s remains were found.

Olivia and her friends used aerial photos of the exact location where the FBI set up a tent near the site of his remains. They found the location and authorities marked three spots with orange spraypaint where his dry bag backpack, notebook, and remains were found.

In the field a few hundred feet away from the scene, Olivia found a water bottle. She reported it to the nearby police who allegedly told her to “throw it away.” In a video posted to her social media account, you can see the police looking at the bottle before turning around and leaving without it.

“This was in the grass, so it’s potential that law enforcement missed this or it could be a random person’s water bottle. But it seems suspicious,” she said in the clip.

Luckily, the social media user kept the bottle since she believed that it was an odd place to be. After some online sleuthing, they made a discovery. The exact same design water bottle was in her YouTube video and Instagram photo. Once they realized that it most likely belonged to her, they went to the local police station. Authorities took the water bottle into evidence. Olivia will give the water bottle to Gabby Petito’s family after it is examined.

The Latest Update

So far, authorities have not confirmed if the water bottle belonged to Gabby Petito. According to the Petito family lawyer, Richard Stafford, it could be hers.

“We have a picture that’s from before she left for her trip,” he said. “It looks like the bottle. I don’t know why it would be left there. It boggles my mind.”

“As far as I know, nothing related to this case has been found,” North Port Police Department spokesman Josh Taylor said. “Bunch of false reports. However, this is an FBI-led investigation and they should speak to anything such as that located. They may know more.”

Nancy Grace’s Gabby Petito Opinion

Nancy Grace’s “A Gabby Petito Investigation” believes that the investigation raises “more questions than answers.”

“[There’s] no DNA, no cause of death. What do we know? I don’t get that the remains of so-called boyfriend Brian Laundrie have been found according to what we’ve been told. But it’s not a full skeleton. In fact, we only heard about a skull. Then we hear about a partial skull but from that partial skull, you can get a dental match? It’s just all very vague in my mind,” she said.

The autopsy on Brian Laundrie determined that his cause of death was inconclusive. A forensic anthropologist will examine the remains to attempt to determine the exact cause of death.
