Gabby Petito’s influence continues to span far beyond that of her New York hometown and the Floridian city she shared residence with Brian Laundrie and his parents in. Over the past few weeks, her case has illuminated “bigger picture” talks of domestic violence, problems within the “van life” community, and other missing persons cases.
Her friends, family, and past coworkers continue to speak openly about how they want her memory honored. As a close family friend heads a special ribbon tribute in Blue Point, New York, the memorial site for Gabby Petito in Florida continues to swell. In some of the latest footage taken from the memorial site, it’s evident just how large of an impact this case garnered.
At The North Port Memorial
News Nation Now correspondent Brian Entin continues to provide ground coverage of all things pertaining to the Gabby Petito case. In some of his recent Tweets, he shared an intimate look at the North Port memorial site growing in Florida. Signs, flowers, and crosses decorate the green area. The 0:44 second clip also shows an increasing amount of pinwheels, balloons, and stuffed animals. Tiki lights and candles scatter the site to allow passerby moments of reflection at night.
Brian Entin confirms these tributes come from “all over.” The comments on his Tweet seem to confirm that as well. The replies are filled with people who say they can’t make it to the site but send their thoughts nonetheless. One user writes:
“That is, by far, the most BEAUTIFUL memorial I’ve ever seen. It shows what a beautiful person she was. Flower windmills, all the beautiful colors, everything is just so amazing. I pray that she is seeing the outpouring of love for her.”

The Future Gabby Petito Foundation
Gabby Petito’s father, Joseph Petito, continues to use social media to interact with the public. Here, he also provided a statement about donations, after so many people asked how they could help. He says the family plans on eventually launching the Future Gabby Petito Foundation.
As it stands, however, those wishing to contribute to that project should send their donations to the Johnny Mac Foundation. Gabby’s mother is an active board member there and the foundation is working closely with the family to make sure their needs are met.
Joseph Petito also verified a direct PayPal link to help with funeral and investigation costs. As a reminder, the family only verified these two sources for donations. Any other GoFundMe pages or Gabby-branded merchandise are completely unauthorized and unauthenticated.
