One of the most famous faces around is seeing a change as a new Gerber baby has been named for 2021. Meet the adorable infant here.
Everyone thinks their baby is the cutest one in the world, but only certain squishy-faced babies are adorable enough to make the cut as THE Gerber baby. Gerber announced the face for the famous food brand on this morning’s episode of Today.
And who is the winner? Please welcome four-month-old Zane Kahin of Winter Park, Florida.
Even at the ripe age of four months, this infant is already more famous than you and I probably ever will be! Zane is now the face of Gerber for the 2021 year. And what perks come with the new resume?
According to Pop Culture, in addition to being the new Gerber Spokesbaby, Zane also takes on the honorary role on Gerber’s Executive Committee as Chief Growing Officer. Furthermore, Zane is officially the “Chief Taste Tester” for new baby food products.
Sheesh! All of that, and he still can’t even form a word or feed himself.
Zane, the Miracle Gerber Baby
Born on February 3 to Micheal and Erin Kahin, Zane is seen as their miracle baby. His parents say that their son defined “all odds” with his birth. Unfortunately, his mother, Erin, has undergone a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation after being diagnosed with breast cancer at just 27.
The couple was unsure if they could have a baby at all, let alone one as famous as the Gerber baby! However, Erin notes that “after getting married to my husband over a year ago, we surprisingly conceived naturally and had a near-perfect pregnancy.”
The proud mother also explains that their sweet little boy is as funny as he is cute. Erin calls her son a “little comedian” who “loves to crack himself up and even wakes up laughing”. Zane’s parents also say he has a “cheerful attitude, captivating giggles, and playful smile” that can “light up any room!”
A dream baby.
Micheal and Erin admit they entered Zane in the Gerber Baby competition as a joke. But now they are laughing all the way to the bank. Zane was chosen as one of over 90,000 applicants to win the 11th annual Photo Search contest. The Kahin family won a $25,000 cash prize, as well as free Gerber products for up to a year. Additionally, they will receive a wardrobe valued at $1,000 provided by Gerber Childrenswear.
The original Gerber baby and the one seen on products today, is Ann Turner Cook. She became the face of the popular brand after a family friend named Dorothy Hope Smith sketched a charcoal portrait of her as an infant. She submitted it to Gerber in 1928.
Furthermore, in 2020, Magnolia Earl made history as the first Gerber Spokesbaby to be adopted.
