Lisa Marie Presley celebrates her 53rd birthday today. Here is what to know about ‘The King’s’ only daughter with Priscilla.
Lisa Marie Presley Personal Life
Lisa Marie Presley was born February 1, 1968, as both Elvis and Priscilla Presley’s only child, exactly nine months after her parent’s wedding. She is also the sole heir to the family estate after her grandfather, and great grandmother died in 1979 and 1980.
Following in her father’s footsteps, Lisa became a singer and songwriter, although when her parents divorced in 1973, Lisa Marie Presley lived with her mother. In August of 1977, Elvis died when Lisa was only nine-years-old, another challenging milestone for a young child.
On the day of Lisa Marie Presley’s 25th birthday, she inherited her father’s massive estate, which now boasted nearly $100 million. By 2004, the daughter had parted ways with more than 85 percent of the estate.
In addition, the woman has been married four times. The first marriage was from 1988 until 1994 with Danny Keough. Together the couple had Benjamin and Riley, although Benjamin took his own life in July 2020.
Next, Lisa married the “King of Pop,” Michael Jackson, for two short years. In 2002, Lisa Marie Presley married actor Nicolas Cage for another two-year stint before tying the knot with Michael Lockwood for ten years. The two called it quits in 2016 and also have two children together, Finley Aaron Love and Harper Vivienne Ann.
Although Lisa’s music career was nowhere close to her father’s, she still has some trophies in her case to be proud of. In April of 2003, Lisa Marie Presley debuted her first album, To Whom It May Concern, which reached number five on the Billboard 200 albums list. By June, it was a certified gold track. The first single on the album, titled “Lights Out,” peaked at number 18 on the Billboard Hot Adult Top 40 chart.
Almost two years to the day, Lisa Marie Presley released her second album, Now What. It reached number nine on the Billboard 200 album.
Her final album debuted in May of 2012, called Storm & Grace, which critics applauded as her best one yet.
Lisa Maire Presley surprised fans with a fun twist in 2007 when she made a “duet” with her father. Elvis originally released the song “In the Ghetto” in 1969, but this time featured both Presley voices on the thirteenth anniversary of her father’s death. Naturally, the single hit the number one position on iTunes sales and number 16 on Billboard’s Bubbling Under Hot 100 singles.
