Services like Instacart have been hugely popular since the pandemic began. Someone picking out and delivering groceries saves both time the hassle of doing it yourself. However, an elderly couple’s order went terribly wrong when their Instacart shopper noticed a pro-police sign in their yard and ran it over.

Daily Mail reports a Minneapolis Instacart driver ran over the elderly couple’s groceries after seeing the pro-police sign in their front yard. The 36-year old driver from Coon Rapids, Minnesota goes by Tara and also ran over the couple’s $50 worth of groceries. Amber Gray, a relative of the couple, disclosed the specifics in a lengthy Facebook post.

The delivery started out innocently enough, but things escalated quickly. “Worried that Tara might struggle in their un-shoveled driveway, they rushed out to meet her,” the post reads. “As they opened the door they heard Tara screaming for them to check inside their Christmas wreath.”

The post continues, saying “It also seemed that she was stuck in the driveway, rocking the car back and forth to get free? Seeing no groceries anywhere they checked the wreath. To their utter disbelief they found a hateful note crudely scribbled on a random receipt. In harsh bold marker it read, ‘Instacart doesn’t pay employees sry find another slave f— the police racist pigs’. A short time later they discovered their groceries in the driveway, casualties of Tara’s hateful act. She wasn’t stuck, after all, she was running their groceries over.”

Upon receiving the news, Instacart released a statement condemning the shopper’s actions. The organization then stated it removed her from the shopping platform indefinitely. Instacart also said it would work with local law enforcement on any investigations dealing with the matter.

Police Hand Out Turkeys Instead of Tickets During Thanksgiving Traffic Stops

There’s a certain sinking feeling while driving and seeing a pair of red and blue lights flashing behind you. That’s not always the case though, with police handing out turkeys instead of tickets to residents of a lucky Arizona town for Thanksgiving.

Fox News broke the story, stating the Mesa Police Department surprised drivers during Thanksgiving week. What is usually a moment of dread turned into one of elation for several drivers.

“When you made your turn, you made a wide turn. You’re supposed to stay in your lane,” Officer Jason Flam told someone he pulled over. Much to the motorist’s surprise, instead of pulling out a ticket for the driver, he gave them a turkey. Flam spoke to Fox News, saying some people became emotional, with one man crying during the exchange. “…I don’t think they can afford the turkey, so it worked out really good.”

While other police departments also did this, I can’t say I would recommend speeding for a free turkey this holiday season.
