Kid Rock and John Daly attended the final 2020 Presidential debate together in support of their mutual friend, President Donald Trump. Both have been outspoken in their endorsements of the president. Thursday, they attended the debate, arriving with no masks, but were quickly issued disposable face masks to ensure the safety of all attendees.

Photographers at the event captured the moment Daly and Rock were asked to put on the disposable face masks by debate staffers.

Of course, social media users were quick to jump on the photos, giving comments on the incident. One image in particular, in which both celebrities are looking at the masks with looks of seeming confusion, went viral. One Twitter user jokes Kid Rock is “looking for directions” on how to properly use the mask.

While another thinks the photo was hilarious, eager to place the masterpiece in a frame for his eternal viewing pleasure.

Another user noted that even when given protective masks, they did not wear them correctly.

Golfer John Daly posted to Twitter an image of the two sitting with half-on masks prior to the debate. They appear next to each other in the post, but images show they were socially-distant, with two seats separating them during the event.

Many users joke on Twitter that the musician does not know how to wear a mask, but surprisingly, he participated in a pro-mask campaign earlier this year.

Though the musician was told to put on a mask at this outing, he previously posted an image with the caption, “Stay home. Stay safe. And if you must go out, wear a mask.”

In April, he prompted his Twitter followers to join the #MiMaskChallenge with a selfie of himself sporting a black cowboy hat and a homemade mask. You read that correctly — a homemade mask by Kid Rock.

The MI Mask Challenge was an effort by the state of Michigan to encourage mask-wearing during the early months of the pandemic.
