With Spring ahead, Krispy Kreme wants to celebrate. America’s favorite doughnut chain recently announced it was coming out with a limited-time doughnut perfect for the season. On Thursday, Krispy Kreme revealed that it would be bringing back its beloved strawberry doughnut beginning on April 26.
Those lucky enough to find a participating store will be able to pick between a regular Strawberry Glazed Doughnut and Strawberry Kreme Filled Doughnut. Both sweet treats include a pink pastel glaze that’s perfectly fitting for the fruity flavor. The Strawberry Kreme Filled Doughnut is filled with the brand’s signature Strawberry Kreme Filling.
However, this isn’t the first time the chain has dabbled with the idea of a strawberry-flavored doughnut. Last year, the company created its strawberry glazed as part of its springtime trio promotion. Customers got to choose between key lime and lemon-flavored doughnuts. However, they didn’t stick around for long: they only sold strawberry glazed doughnuts from April 28 to May 1.
Customers can get either of the new doughnuts with and without sprinkles and two powdered doughnuts with two different fillings.
Krispy Kreme’s Sweet Spring Treat
“Last year, fans couldn’t get enough of Strawberry Glaze and have been asking for it to come back ever since,” Krispy Kreme’s Chief Marketing Officer Dave Skena said. “So we’re bringing it back. Hurry in and enjoy!”
Krispy Kreme’s revival of its strawberry glazed doughnuts also comes on the heels after the company promoted its Oreo glazed doughnuts. The oreo-themed sweets left stores on Sunday, April 18. However, those looking to get a bite of the strawberry doughnuts better hurry. The strawberry sweets will leave stores on Wednesday, May 6.

Krispy Kreme has also been experimenting with new flavors, and limited-time offers in the past year. Some doughnuts become permanent items on the menu or depending on consumer approval.
Last summer, Krispy Kreme brought back its three Reese’s doughnuts as a limited-time offer. By August, the Reese’s Classic Doughnut found its home as a permanent menu item. In addition, nationwide stores participate in their monthly “Thank Goodness It’s Chocolate” promotion. The promotion gives customers a chance to purchase a limited supply of glazed chocolate doughnuts on various Fridays.
