Do you have a sweet tooth? If so, we have some news that will make you say, “I’m lovin’ it!” McDonald’s is adding three new baked goods to its breakfast menu for the first time in eight years.

According to a McDonald’s press release, the delicious new additions will include three new sweet treats. One is an apple fritter that is “fried to a golden brown”. The others include a “soft and fluffy” blueberry muffin, and a cinnamon roll that is “topped with cream cheese icing.”

McDonald’s will serve the items alongside their cookies and pies starting on October 28.

A spokesperson for the fast-food chain said several different markets tested the three new items. In addition, the “response was overwhelmingly positive.”

All-Day Breakfast

The vice president of brand and menu strategy, Linda VanGosen, said that for about 50 years, customers have known McDonald’s for its “savory” breakfast items.

The chain first started its breakfast menu in 1971 with the Egg McMuffin. Later, McDonald’s added items like the breakfast burrito, coffee, and fan-favorite McGriddle.

Currently, McDonald’s had taken away the All Day Breakfast option due to the pandemic. However, the three new items will be available for purchase by hungry customers all day. It is unclear when the other morning favorites will be back.

“We removed All Day Breakfast from the menu to simplify operations in our kitchens, which we saw provided better speed of service and order accuracy,” a McDonald’s USA spokesperson said last month.

“As McDonald’s and franchisees evaluate if and how we bring All Day Breakfast back to our menus, we want to ensure these improvements will remain consistent for our customers. Any final decision will be made in partnership with our franchisees, based on consumer demand, and designed to drive the business while minimizing operational disruptions.”
