Fans of the most polarizing sandwich in all of fast food are rejoicing as the McRib is set to make its triumphant return.

McDonald’s officials say the saucy pork sandwich will return to its full menu in a matter of week. The mega fast food chain tweets will appear on their menu for an extended stay on December 2.

“Good morning to everyone who asked how I was doing last week,” the Tweet reads. “And to everyone else…McRib is back 12.2 (Dec. 2).”

Four hours after it hit Twitter, the tweet got over 6,000 “likes,” hundreds of replies and nearly 2,000 retweets.

Though McDonald’s tried to be subtle with the announcement made on Friday, McRib fans across the country celebrated the sandwiches return. The restaurant followed that tweet with another announcing the delicious sandwich will be made available nationwide for the first time in eight years.

“Nationwide for the first time since 2012 if you can believe it,” the Tweet states.

McDonald’s teased McRib fans last week with a subtle and humorous tweet that also demonstrates the popularity of the sandwich.

“It’s always ‘when is the McRib coming back,'” it says. “And never ‘how are you doing person who runs the McDonald’s account.'”

McRib Return Confirmed by McDonald’s

According to Business Insider, McDonald’s Vice President of Menu Innovation Linda VanGosen confirms the sandwich is back.

“The McRib has been a beloved menu item at McDonald’s since its inception nearly 40 years ago,” she in a statement. “There’s nothing quite like the taste of the McRib. To our customers, it’s become more than a delicious, saucy moment… it’s a season, and it’s taking the internet by storm. That’s why this year, we’re proud to serve the McRib nationwide for everyone to enjoy.”

Fans of the sandwich are jumping for joy on social media. Here are a few reaction tweets to the return of the McRib.
