Sometimes it’s the little things that mean the most. And one Nashville bar is feeling just that on Thursday night after they received a memorable tip from a customer.

This isn’t just any bar in Nashville, though. We are talking about John Rich’s Redneck Riviera. If you are a fan of country music, then you most definitely know John Rich as one half of the country music duo Big & Rich. But not everyone knows that he runs one of the most popular bars in the city.

Sure, there are a lot of honky-tonks that line up Broadway Street in downtown Nashville. But, Redneck Riviera is way more than that. It’s also a place to go and celebrate America’s heroes. That was evident after the latest post on Twitter from John Rich. He showed off a receipt from one of the patrons at the bar who had left a rather patriotic tip. The customer left a $13 tip on a meal that cost $23.42. They said the tip was in honor of the 13 military members who lost their lives recently in Afghanistan.

“For the 13 that could not be here with us today. Freedom isn’t free!” a note on the receipt reads.

“From a patron at @RedneckRiviera Bar. Wow! @rnrbarnash Our customers are the best.”

Fans Respond to Patriotic Tip at Nashville Bar

Is there anything more heartwarming than reading about someone honoring fallen members of the military? Even the smallest action — such as leaving a $13 tip on a meal — can go viral and spark a movement of positivity. At the very least, it was a reminder to country music fans that even when the news is full of the negative, there is still good happening all around us.

Followers of John Rich on Twitter shared their feelings on the patriotic gesture in the replies.

“So many wonderful Americans across this country!!” one person said.

“God bless America!” another fan replied. “This makes me proud to know that there are still patriots that are strong and proud. #NashvilleStrong”

“Great customers and a damn good whiskey to boot,” another fan commented.

Meanwhile, everyone can take a moment or two to honor our military. But for John Rich and his establishment, Redneck Riviera, it’s more than a moment. It’s a lifestyle. It’s 24-7. They even have a “Heroes Bar” where they offer military personnel special prices.

“The Heroes Bar is the most significant and soulful part of Redneck Riviera. This is where we not only get to say, ‘Thank you fr your service,’ but we back that up by offering our military vets, active duty, and all first responders their first round of a 2-for-1 on all domestic beers, plus half price on Redneck Riviera Jerky. These folks are the backbone of our nation and we love them!”
