Navy Sailor Reportedly Assaulted on 9/11 After Being Accused of Wearing ‘Fake’ Uniform

Though 9/11 is often a day of remembrance and reflection, sadly, that isn’t always the case. On this year’s anniversary, a Navy sailor was reportedly assaulted after a woman accused him of wearing a “fake” uniform.

A clip of the event was posted to TikTok and shows a woman smacking Navy sailor Sean Nolte Jr. as he ordered food Saturday at Central Pizza in Berlin. Additionally, she picks up Nolte’s hat from a counter and throws it at him. As an aside, the video contains obscene language, so be ready if you watch it.

Berlin police received “many tips” from the public regarding the woman from the clip. This morning, they released a statement about what transpired.

“Up until yesterday and despite the widespread sharing of the video on social media, we received no information from the public as to the possible identity of the woman involved in the assault,” Acting Chief of Police Chris Ciuci said. “The investigation is ongoing and when probable cause is developed, we will apply for an arrest warrant.”

The Navy sailor himself detailed the event on Facebook, saying the woman had been “constantly staring” at him since she walked in and saw him. “As she leaves, she looks at me and says ‘nice smile’ very sarcastically,” Nolte said. “I reply ‘thank you, have a nice day ma’am’ and continue about my day. Not even 30 seconds later she comes marching back in, and yells at the pizzeria staff, ‘He is a fake, by the way, my husband is in the Army.’”

Keeping his cool, Nolte then politely told the woman to thank her husband for his service before she left. Currently training at the Naval Submarine School in Groton, Nolte also serves as a volunteer firefighter.

Two Veterans Open New Bar on 9/11 Anniversary and Pay Tribute to Military Members

9/11’s 20th anniversary saw many tributes and methods of honoring our country’s heroes. Two veterans opened a Georgia-based bar as their way of doing so.

Recently speaking with LaGrange News, United States veterans James Bailey and his business partner/cousin Brett Chapman shared how they honored those who served or currently serve. The Drive Bar in Hogansville, Georgia offered a special “first drink on us” military special, for one. The two also said the bar’s porch deck was full of 9/11 memorial magazines and newspapers from 2001.

“It’s been really awesome to see the turnout and the response. And to all the families come out.” Bailey went on to tell the media outlet. “I’m glad we got to do this. [To] honor[the military veterans and current servicemen] this way.”

The two veterans happily reported a large number of servicemen came to the grand opening. Appearing in both civilian clothes and uniforms, the bar’s opening was a huge success.
