NASA is looking for an upgrade to their ride just before they jet set off into space. The Astrovan (escorted astronauts since 1984) did a good job, however, the time has come to retire the ride. It was awesome while it lasted. The space association has opened the doors up to private companies. And one not-so-subtle organization responded. The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.

Now, if you’ve ever seen this in person, it’s pretty incredible. The Wienermobile is recognizable to anyone anywhere. How cool would it be to see the specialty vehicle escorting astronauts to their spaceship?

The Wienermobile was developed by Carl G. Mayer in 1936. They have since paraded streets and cities all over the United States promoting the highly-processed hotdogs. Tourists flock to the vehicles when they’re seen in order to get a photo with the hot dog-shaped transport. The company has done a phenomenal job marketing these vehicles throughout the years – and they’ve become quite a hit.

Apparently, now, Oscar Mayer is ready to expand into space! We wish them luck!

Winermobile Not Only Weird Thing to Get Near Astronauts

Admittedly, seeing the Wienermobile send off NASA’s most elite astronauts into space would be kind of a trippy situation. However, it may not be as odd as a recent encounter seen on a live broadcast during one of NASA’s space station live braodcasts.

Following the legitimization of UFOs by the Department of Defense, those watching a live broadcast of the space station recently believe a UFO zipped past the International Space Station in full view of the camera.

A Youtuber watching this live feed captured the sight on camera and posted accordingly.

The video’s title reads, “Ok something is CLEARLY roaming the skies on this planet!”

UFOs in Space

Further, as if this sighting wasn’t jarring enough, former President Barack Obama commented on UFOs during an appearance on “The Late Late Show.” And no, it wasn’t a joke.

“What is true, and I’m actually being serious here, is that there are, there’s footage and records of objects in the skies, that we don’t know exactly what they are. We can’t explain how they moved, their trajectory. They did not have an easily explainable pattern,” Obama said.

Moreover, in the past few months, witnesses reported seeing eerie flashing lights above their homes. The lights seem to appear, hover, and then zip away just as quickly. These sightings have occurred in states from Maryland across to California.

Whatever the case, UFOs have fascinated the world for years – with experts and scientists chiming in with books, movies, artifacts and other unexplained phenomena.
