A Pennsylvania woman’s photo has gone viral after she claims to have found a deep-fried chicken head among her order of chicken wings.
The woman posted the photos of her unusual piece of chicken to her Facebook page last week.
According to the post, Brittani Paulhamus of Williamsport Pennsylvania noticed one of her chicken wings in her order looked a bit odd. When she took a closer look, she saw that it wasn’t a wing at all. Instead, Paulhamus found an entire chicken head, complete with eyes and a beak.
“I bit into a wing, and you know, all was fine,” Brittani Paulhamus reported on the Today show.
“I picked up the second wing, and all of a sudden, I’m like, ‘Why is the shape weird?'” the Pennsylvania woman recalls. “I turned it, and whenever I seen the beak and the eye, I threw it and I screamed.”
According to Paulhamus, she even showed the unusual piece of chicken to her fiance, just to make sure she wasn’t just seeing things in a misshapen wing.
It Was Definitely NOT A Wing
But, upon inspection, even Brittani’s fiance saw that the piece was, in fact, a deep-fried whole chicken head.
Paulhamus shared her unusual story on Facebook later that day, and it went viral almost immediately.
“I just had to post it because it’s not every day you open your wing container and get a chicken head instead of just one of the wings,” Paulhamus told Today. “At least it’s a chicken part.”
Paulhamus did get ahold of the restaurant from which she had ordered the chicken. The management offered to give Paulhamus a refund for her order.
However, Paulhamus hasn’t been back to receive the refund. According to her, the event was just funny. Well, it was funny once she got over the shock of what she had seen!
“Honestly, it doesn’t matter,” Paulhamus says.
“Like, at the end of the day, it’s funny to me now,” she continues. “I look back on Friday, and I laugh about it more than I’m disgusted by it.”
While Paulhamus didn’t utilize her refund, the restaurant at which she bought the chicken asked the customer to bring the chicken head in so they could show it to their supplier.
“We’ve been open nearly thirteen years, and have never seen anything like this,” the restaurant reports in a recent statement. The restaurant also took a moment to thank “all of our loyal customers and thank everyone that understands that accidents do happen, and some things are just out of our control.”
