The late son of Lisa Marie Presley and grandson to the iconic Elvis Presley, Benjamin Keough, passed away on July 12th of this year, and his first birthday since his death was celebrated on Wednesday.

Benjamin’s sister, Riley Keough, has been fairly quiet since her brother’s passing. But, she posted a short and sweet message to Benjamin on her Instagram account to honor his Oct. 21 birthday. The King’s grandson would have turned 28 today.

Riley, 31, shared a slideshow of four pictures of the siblings. The first two are from her 2015 wedding when she married stuntman Ben Smith-Peterson. The third picture shared by Riley is of the brother and sister when they were kids on an amusement park ride that looks like motorcycles.

Finally, the sister shared a photo of Benjamin as a young boy with long, curly blonde hair standing in front of a fence and smiling. In the caption to the post, Riley shared two storm cloud emojis and a heart. Riley’s middle name is Storm.

“Happy Birthday beautiful angel,” Riley wrote to her brother.

Benjamin Keough Laid to Rest at Graceland Beside Elvis

Earlier this month, Benjamin was laid to rest alongside his grandfather, Elvis Presley, in Graceland three months after his death.

On Thursday, Oct. 1, the official Facebook page for Elvis Presley’s Graceland home in Memphis, TN confirmed the news.

“Benjamin Storm Presley Keough was laid to rest in the Meditation Garden at Graceland with his family including his grandfather, Elvis Presley, great-grandmother, Gladys Presley, great-grandfather, Vernon Presley and great-great-grandmother, Minnie Mae Presley,” the post read.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office told Fox News that an autopsy revealed the cause of death. Officials ruled his death as suicide by a gunshot wound.

Lisa Marie Presley, 52, reacted to her son’s death in a statement sent through her manager.

“She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated. But trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley,” the statement said. “She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.”
