Millions of Californians will get state stimulus checks, but their arrival dates vary by zip code. Direct deposits will be received faster than paper checks.

The California Franchise Tax Board expects to issue around nine million checks for this round of stimulus payments. 7.3 million payments have already been sent out. Californians, check below for your zip code.

If your zip code ends in 376-584, payments were sent out November 15th through December 3rd. You should get your payment by Christmas Eve. For zip codes 585-719, payments are being sent out until December 17th and should arrive by January 7th. Payments for zip codes 720-927 will be sent out until December 31st. You should get them by January 21st. Finally, if your zip code ends in 928-999, your stimulus check will be sent out from December 27th to January 11th. They should arrive by February 1st.

To qualify for this payment, Californians must’ve filed their 2020 taxes by October 15th and have an Adjusted Gross Income under $75,000 for the 2020 tax year. You also must’ve been a resident for at least half of the 2020 tax year and currently be a resident at the time of payment.

We’re unsure if payments will continue after this round, but there is a possibility. California is expecting to have a budget surplus of $31 billion.

Other States Offering Stimulus Payments, Too

California isn’t the only state continuing to offer stimulus payments to residents.

Maine is sending payments of $285 to 500,000 citizens. To qualify for the Maine payment, tax filers must make under $75,000 if single or $150,000 if filing jointly. Checks for Maine residents are also being sent out in batches but are expected to all be sent out by the end of December.

If you live in Seattle, you’ve already missed the November 15th deadline to apply for a stimulus payment. Seattle has a fund of about $16 million to help low-income city residents. Payments are totaling $3,000. The criteria to qualify for the Seattle Relief Fund are as follows: if you couldn’t use state unemployment, had no health insurance, or didn’t get any previous stimulus payments. All applicants for the fund must be 18 or older.

You also must’ve made under half of Seattle’s median income. If you’re single, that means an annual income under $40,500. For a family of four, the income cap increases to $57,850. As you might’ve already guessed, you also need to reside within the boundaries of Seattle.

Additionally, advance child tax credits are also still being sent out. Parents with kids under age six will receive $300 per child. This payment decreases to $250 per child if they’re between the ages of six and 17. This will be the sixth round of advance child tax credits being sent out.
