On May 4th, the moon will be in the perfect taco shape, if you are a taco person… If not, it is half a pizza shape. You get the point.
In this scenario, the moon will be shaped like a taco. A delicious, savory, crunchy taco. And in early May, fast-food chain Taco Bell is joining in on the fun.
In celebration of the food-shaped moon, Taco Bell will be giving away free tacos in their first-ever global campaign. According to People, customers can get a free crunchy taco on the night of the event.

Taco Bell’s Goes Global With Taco Moon
The Taco Bell deal will be available for hungry fans in over 20 global markets through the app and online. Furthermore, Taco Moon celebrates the fast-food chain’s international expansion over the past year.
The chain is located in 32 international markets with over 7,000 restaurants in the United States.
The company is catching people’s attention in the past few months with some major announcements. Taco Bell revealed in March that they would be entering the great chicken sandwich race. Additionally, they will be bringing back their famous potato slices after cutting them from the menu last year.
Julie Felss Masino, the international president of Taco Bell, also wrote about the new promotion for the company in a press release.
“Taco Bell has been an established brand in the U.S. for nearly 60 years, and we are thrilled by the accelerating fandom we’re seeing globally,” said Masino. “As we’re opening more and more restaurants internationally, we know the May 4 moon will take us to new ‘heights as we introduce ourselves to new future fans in a delicious way.”
In the upcoming decade, the company hopes to open nearly 10,000 new restaurants. However, Masino recently spoke to CNN, saying that the pandemic took a toll on the chain.
“[Last year] was a difficult year for a lot of our markets,” Masino revealed. “Taco Bell is a such distinctive brand that we’re taking a moment to have the world’s largest influencer be a billboard in the sky.”
