On Tuesday, the confusion over actress Tanya Roberts’ death seemingly came to a close when her representatives stated that she died from a urinary tract infection.

According to PEOPLE, her representatives clarified when and why Roberts passed away following multiple misinformed reports. The 65-year-old died on Monday due to complications stemming from a UTI, in addition to her longtime issues with hepatitis C. The infection advanced into her organs and bloodstream, which ultimately led to Roberts’ death.

The former Bond girl and That ’70s Show star‘s death has been riddled with misunderstandings. However, Roberts’ publicist Mike Pingel shared more details on her passing with reporters on Tuesday.

“With a heavy heart I can confirm the death of Tanya Roberts last night on January 4, 2021 around 9:30pm PT at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA,” Pingel explained.

“[Roberts’ cause of death] was from a urinary tract infection, which spread to her kidney, gallbladder, liver and then blood stream,” he added.

Tanya Roberts Reported Dead, Then Alive, Then Dead (Again)

Reports of Tanya Roberts passing away recently have taken many strange turns over the last two weeks. Reports came out that the actress was hospitalized after falling out of bed on Christmas Eve. While in the hospital, she suffered from intestinal pains and had trouble breathing. Her health declined significantly over the next week.

In fact, her partner, Lance O’Brien, told Roberts’ manager on Sunday, Jan. 3 that he “said goodbye” during his last hospital visit. Her manager mistakenly took O’Brien’s message to mean that Roberts had already passed away. News broke late Sunday night of the Hollywood star’s death as fans on social media paid tribute. However, Roberts had not passed away just yet.

During an odd interview with Inside Edition on Monday, an emotional O’Brien seemed to learn live on-air that Roberts had not died. Doctors warned O’Brien that his most recent visit could be an “end-of-life visit.” Additionally, healthcare workers said the COVID-19 pandemic would restrict his visits. Therefore, he assumed the worst.

Yet, Cedars-Sinai Hospital officials confirmed that Roberts did not pass away until Monday night. Roberts’ publicist requested that fans pay their respects to the actress by donating to the ASPCA.

“Roberts was an animal rights activist. In lieu of flowers, they are asking for donations to be given in Roberts’ name to the ASPCA, https://secure.aspca.org,” Pingel said. “An online memorial for Tanya Roberts will be announced shortly. The family ask for privacy as they mourn her death.”
