Donald Trump Dances at Florida Rally, Twitter Lights Up

President Trump returned to the campaign trail on Monday with a rally in Sanford, Florida that drew thousands of closely packed supporters.

At the rally, Trump spoke for about an hour, the Associated Press reported. He announced that he is now “immune” to the virus. And he offered to walk into the audience and “give ya a big fat kiss.”

Then, as the rally ended, Trump did a little dance to the song “YMCA” by The Village People. He moved his fists in time to the beat. And according to the AP, the crowd ate it up.

Ryann McEnany, a Trump campaign social media strategist and the sister of Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, tweeted a video of the president at the rally.

McEnany’s tweet provoked some strong reactions on Twitter. Many of the initial tweets came from the president’s fans, who tweeted messages of love and affirmation.

“So glad he is having fun,” Twitter user Tina tweeted. “He deserves happiness.”

Critics Address Video

But soon after, critics began to chime in, too. Twitter user JL90 suggested Trump has a personality disorder, unbeknownst to his supporters.

“He’s not fit for office unless that is addressed and addressing an undiagnosed personality disorder at the age of 74 would be near impossible,” she tweeted.

Some tweeps implied the president is to blame for the more than 200,000 deaths from coronavirus. “215,000 dead!” Phil Rogers tweeted. “Yaaaaaaaay!”

The president has three weeks left in his re-election campaign, and he is still trailing in polls. The most recent Real Clear Politics average showed Biden with a 10-point lead over Trump.

Trump will return to Florida on Friday for a rally in Ocala. The swing state went for Trump in 2016.

Many analysts consider the state key to Trump’s shot at reelection, according to the AP.
