President Donald Trump had stern words for Jim Cramer yesterday.

The CNBC host was busy apologizing Tuesday for a moment during a live interview with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi when he called her “Crazy Nancy.” Trump often uses that nickname for the speaker, according to Fox News.

“I made a very stupid comment,” Cramer said later in the day. “It was a tongue-in-cheek attempt to make a point about the harsh tone of the negotiations in Washington. But it fell completely flat, and I apologize for that.”

But Trump was having none of it. “Jim, you didn’t make a mistake,” Trump tweeted Wednesday morning. “It’s true, and that’s why you said it. No pandering!”

Trump used the “Crazy Nancy” nickname most recently to poke fun at the speaker over her claim that she was set up by a salon owner in San Francisco. The salon owner had released a video of Pelosi in her salon without a mask at a time when salons in California were supposed to be shut down.

Cramer insisted that he was trying to critique the president’s use of that nickname, not reinforce it. “My critics didn’t listen to why I mentioned it – because it is horrifying,” Cramer tweeted.

Congress has been debating a second coronavirus relief bill, and Cramer was interviewing Pelosi about the negotiations.

Negotiations on the coronavirus relief bill have stalled over the total cost of the bill. Democrats have called for at least $2 trillion in aid. Senate Republicans tried and failed to pass a $300 billion “skinny” bill last week.

On Wednesday evening, Trump surprised Senate Republicans by calling for a bill with “much higher numbers” and new stimulus checks for Americans in it.
