NFL legend Herschel Walker defended Ice Cube for working with the Trump campaign. Walker applauded the actor and rapper for “looking out for people of color.”

Some have ridiculed Ice Cube online for working with Trump on the “Platinum Plan.” The proposed plane would create 3 million jobs for people of color. It would also increase capital in black communities by $500 billion over the next four years. The rapper reportedly met with both campaigns to discuss issues of racism and economic justice.

Walker confessed he didn’t know Ice Cube well but commended his actions.

“I know he was trying to do something great for the African American community,” Walker said. “He’s been ridiculed and even put down. I think it’s sad. Because it’s not like he went to the Trump campaign only and said, ‘I need you to help me with the African American community.’ He went to both campaigns. And the Joe Biden campaign told him, ‘We’ll get back in touch with you after the election.'”

“Which has happened to African Americans for years. We’ve been put on the shelf,” Walker continued. “Well the Trump campaign jumped on it. He never said he was supporting the Trump campaign. Like I said early on, I don’t know him but I think it’s a shame that he’ll be put down for trying to help someone.”

Ice Cube Approached Both Candidates

The rapper said he wasn’t endorsing either candidate as president. But he met with both Republicans and Democrats because “one of them is gonna win.”

Ice Cube reported the Biden campaign said they would address the issues after the election, according to the Rolling Stone. Meanwhile, the Trump Administration created a plan based on ideas from Ice Cube’s Contract with Black America. Neither candidate agreed to sign the contract, but Trump did include some ideas from the contract in the Platinum Plan.

Ice Cube said he believed the Democrats “owed” black communities. But he was unsure if they would “do right” by them. In May, Joe Biden infamously said, “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”

“I just know one of them is gonna win … I don’t know if it can really matter to us, we gotta just push whoever’s in there because ain’t nobody really solved our problems,” Ice Cube said in a video. “People say we can’t take another four years of this — black people, s–t, we can take anything.”

Some Twitter Users Have Ridiculed The Rapper

After his announcement, some users on Twitter criticized the rapper for partnering with the Trump Administration on the plan.
