WATCH: Tesla Goes Up in Flames in a Person’s Driveway

A Tesla catches fire in a Pennsylvania driveway, spreading to a nearby house in Pennsylvania. Nobody is hurt from the incident.

A Tesla vehicle bursts into flames outside of a home in a Pennsylvania neighborhood. People are recalling the fire spreading to the home’s garage rather quickly. Firefighters putting the flames out say that it takes less than half an hour for it to dissipate. Thankfully, nobody is injured or hurt.

The post pictures the white Tesla engulfed in fire and heavy smoke. Firefighters are unsure of what caused the fire. Firefighters are also unsure of the home’s full extent of damages at this time.

This is not the first instance of a Tesla doing this. A Tesla Model X Plaid burst into flames this past summer when it was being driven. The driver is lucky to be alive, making an escape while the car was still in motion. The unidentified driver calls the experience “harrowing” and “horrifying,” as reported by Los Angeles attorney Mark Geragos.

In addition to fire threats, there are multiple cases of the cars’ autopilot feature going awry. The feature is the cause of multiple car crashes and is a cause for concern for consumers. It is not safe to completely trust this feature just yet.

Consumer Reactions

Comments on the Instagram post range from comedic to serious in tone. Some people ask questions about the hazards of electric cars. Others think that this piece of news is only relevant for political reasons. Either way, the comment section is divided.

“You mean a bunch if high capacity batteries stacked together eventually caught on fire?” one comment reads with sarcasm.

“If this was a normal car no one would care,” another writes.

Tesla is not responding to the incident as of right now. Whatever your stance (or your car), we hope this does not happen to more consumers.

Elon Musk’s and The Tesla Journey

Musk admits that his company has created many of his life’s highs and lows. In an interview with CNBS, Musk bares it all.

“Tesla’s probably responsible for two-thirds of all personal and professional pain combined to give you a sense of perspective there,” Musk says.

At the same time, his goals are for his company to better the environment as a whole. Renewable energy is the way of the future, and increased fears of global warming make this an important mission for Musk. He also hopes it will be much more accessible in the future.

“I do think long-term renewable energy will actually be the cheapest form of energy. It just doesn’t happen overnight.”

With changing the way we live and use transportation comes some big risks. Musk would rather risk it all and use his position for the greater good.
