Why Dog the Bounty Hunter Thinks Gabby Petito Autopsy Was Delayed

Gabby Petito’s official cause of death is out. Teton County Coroner disproved all theories of gunshot wounds and blunt force trauma. However, autopsy reports can take a while. Dog the Bounty Hunter shared his perspective on why he thinks that Petito’s autopsy took so long.

Dog the Bounty Hunter says that he has never seen an autopsy take this long to announce during his career. But also says how sometimes withdrawn autopsy reports are “an act of mercy.” He shares that sometimes the delay in reports helps a family’s grieving process before learning the details of their loved ones’ passing.

Dog the Bounty Hunter tearfully remembers his 23-year-old daughter, Barbara Katie, and finding out how she passed. Barbara Katie was the oldest of the 68-year-old’s twelve kids and lost her in a car accident the night before his fifth marriage. But, he recalls, “I know that my daughter was killed at the same age, and for a few weeks, they didn’t tell me that the car rolled over on my daughter’s skull.”

Barbara Katie was reportedly in a stolen SUV near her home in Alaska when it rolled off the road, hit some trees, and flipped. Scott Standefer II, who was driving, also perished in the crash.

Gabby Petito’s Autopsy Reports

Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue’s press conference today revealed that Gabby Petito died from strangulation. Dr. Blue disproved any other theory about the cause of death today during his press conference. The discovery came weeks after Petito’s body was discovered at Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming. Petito’s boyfriend officially is the person of interest after Dr. Blue declared the 22-year-old’s death a homicide just a few weeks ago. Laundrie is still missing.

The Teton County Coroner also claims that Petito’s body was out in the wilderness for 3-4 weeks. However, the doctor could not pinpoint when exactly she had passed. He says, “We hereby find the cause and manner of death to be, the cause, death by strangulation, and manner is homicide. By Wyoming state statute, no other information will be released about the autopsy.” The coroner did not answer regarding exactly how Petito was found, and whether or not she was buried or left on solid ground.

Dr. Blue ruled out all pregnancy rumors and rumors of her death being an accident this afternoon. The doctor didn’t disclose any specific details. Toxicology reports haven’t been released noting that “nothing is obvious in a situation like this.”

The search for Petito’s ex-fiance is still underway at the Carlton Preserve near North Port, Florida. The Laundrie’s family attorney issued a statement regarding the young girl’s autopsy findings saying, “Gabby Petito’s death at such a young age is a tragedy, At this time Brian is still missing and when he is located we will address the pending fraud charge against him.”
