On Monday, actress Conchata Ferrell passed away at the age of 77 because of complications that followed her recent cardiac arrest, according to Deadline. The Two and a Half Men star died while surrounded by family at Sherman Oaks Hospital in Sherman Oaks, California.

The actress has suffered from numerous health issues in recent years. They include more than one heart attack, a kidney infection, and blood contamination. Ferrell has been in and out of the hospital for the last year.

Ferrell Suffered From Multiple Health Issues in Recent Years

The famous actress had a heart attack around five months ago and was hospitalized after not feeling well, according to her husband Arnie Anderson. Anderson said his wife spent more than four weeks in the intensive care unit following her heart attack. In addition, Ferrell went into cardiac arrest while in ICU, which lasted for around 10 minutes, her husband said.

Afterward, doctors transferred Ferrell to a long-term care facility. The actress was put on a respirator and dialysis at the facility. Furthermore, Ferrell could not speak or communicate after the health scare. At the time, Anderson was unable to visit his wife because of strict COVID-19 guidelines that restricted hospital visitors. However, Anderson did speak with Ferrell’s nurse on a regular basis who provided updates on his wife often.

In February, Ferrell spoke with TMZ about being hospitalized for a kidney infection in December while living at her vacation home in Charleston, West Virginia. The actress said her infection spread, which led to contamination in her blood.

After that health scare, Ferrell spent another few weeks in the ICU as a precaution so they could monitor her. Later, in January, the actress transferred into transitional care. Ferrell spent most of January bedridden as she recuperated at home. Additionally, she participated in physical therapy multiple times each day as she tried to get her strength back.

The actress said her husband was by her side throughout her hospital stay and recovery. She said Anderson worked day and night to help care for her during her time of need.
