As “The Voice” wrapped up its season, Florida Georgia Line singer Tyler Hubbard appeared with rapper Nelly to sing their song “Lil Bit.”

Hubbard reached out to his Florida Georgia Line partner, Brian Kelley, after the show on Twitter.

It’s probably strange to see one member of this successful country music singing-songwriting team on stage without the other one. Tuesday night’s show marked the final “The Voice” show for the season, where coaches and fans crowned a new champion, Carter Rubin.

“Lil Bit” shows how rap music and country can coexist on a stage, especially on “The Voice” show. Nelly and Hubbard gave it their all for the people watching on NBC. The song is slated to appear on Nelly’s country-themed EP “The Heartland,” which is scheduled to be released in early 2021.

This isn’t the first time Florida Georgia Line and Nelly have worked together. They first worked together in 2013 on a remix of FGL’s song “Cruise.” Nelly joined the duo on their 2017 Smooth Tour, plus he’s worked with other country music stars like Tim McGraw, Jimmie Allen, and Kane Brown, TasteOfCountry notes.

Nelly and FGL first teamed up in 2013, for a remix of the duo’s diamond-certified, record-breaking debut single, 2012’s “Cruise.” The rapper joined Hubbard and Kelley on their Smooth Tour in 2017.

Despite only one-half of FGL appearing on “The Voice” on Tuesday night, the road to major success dates back to 2012.

If you look at the number of awards the duo has received, then they are among country music’s elite these days.

They were the first country act to achieve RIAA’s Diamond certification (10 million copies sold). They hold the record for longest reign, 50 weeks, on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with their No. 1 song “Meant to Be” with Bebe Rexha.

In addition, firstly, Florida Georgia Line has 9.3-plus billion online streams. Secondly, they have 33.6 million track downloads. Thirdly, they have sold 4.6-plus million albums around the world. Finally, they have notched 16 No. 1 singles.

The duo also has received honors from the Academy of Country Music, the American Music Awards, the CMA Awards, and CMT Music Awards.

Don’t be surprised to see FGL appear on “The Voice” again in the future.

Meanwhile, they still have work ahead of them to do. They recently shared a Christmas-themed song called “Lit This Year” with their fans and 2.38 million YouTube subscribers. It’s a nice little song that expresses thoughts and feelings about the most wonderful time of the year.

Take a few minutes and enjoy FGL’s newest music.
