Walmart plans to give employees another bonus in their paycheck. The retail giant is rewarding workers after being on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.

The third round of bonuses is reportedly going to be for the same amount as the last round of bonuses, with some additions, according to Fox 8. Full-time workers will receive an extra $300. Part-time will receive an extra $150. Assistant managers at Walmart stores and Sam’s Club will be getting a $400 bonus. Walmart also plans to reward Private Fleet truck drivers with $300 bonuses.

John Furner, President and CEO of Walmart U.S. shared a statement on the company website about the bonuses. “Walmart and Sam’s Club associates continue to do remarkable work, and it’s important we reward and appreciate them,” Furner said. “All across the country, they’re providing Americans with the food, medicine and supplies they need, while going above and beyond the normal scope of their jobs – diligently sanitizing their facilities, making customers and members feel safe and welcome, and handling difficult situations with professionalism and grace.”

Since the pandemic began, Walmart has given employees three bonuses. The company is the largest private employer in the U.S., with more than 1.3 million employees, according to CNBC. Across the globe, Walmart employs 2.1 million people.

Walmart is the nation’s largest grocer. Dan Bartlett, Walmart’s executive vice president of corporate affairs, spoke in March about the pressure on the company’s supply chain. “It is quite frankly, unprecedented, the type of sustained pressure that we’re seeing,” he said during an interview on Squawk Box. “It is like Black Friday day after day after day in some respects.”

In addition to aiding employees financially, Walmart hopes to help their employees stay as safe as possible during the pandemic. According to the company website, Walmart implemented daily health screens and temperature checks. Also, Walmart provides masks and gloves, and offers emotional support via virtual counseling.
