The country girl power-duo Kelsea Ballerini and Shania Twain decided to bless fans by coming together with their new collaboration of “Hole in the Bottle”.
Kelsea Ballerini and Shania Twain sat down for a virtual interview with People to talk about all the teasers and hints the two women have been dropping for fans about the collaboration.
Ballerini and Twain Drop Hints
Four days ago, both Ballerini and Twain posted to their Instagram accounts the same video. It shows Ballerini sitting on a chair with her white cowboy boots curled up on the chair with her. She twirls her long, blond ponytail while taking a video in a mirror. The song “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!” plays in the background. She zooms in close to the mirror, and Shania Twain pulls back her phone.
Twain wears fishnet tights under her knee-high studded boots and a yellow sweatshirt with the hood up and a hat on. She also is seated on a chair with her feet up. Twain finishes the words to her song, lip-syncing, “Let’s go girls!”
Next, Kelsea Ballerini hinted again at the CMA Awards with a black tophat that Twain wore in a music video. Ballerini confirmed fans’ suspicions by announcing the collaboration after her performance.
Ballerini released the song back in September, but on Friday, “Hole in the Bottle,” featuring both 55-year-old Twain and 27-year-old Ballerini’s iconic voices, graced fan’s ears.
Love at First Sight
The two first met, and their obsession for each other started in 2016, while backstage at the CMT Awards. Since then, Twain has attended numerous of Ballerini’s shows.
When asked where Ballerini got the inspiration to collaborate with Twain, she said it came to her when thinking about Twain’s style.
“It was actually when I shot the music video for “Hole in the Bottle”. We had all these kinda fashion choices that pointed to moments that Shania’s had in her career, and so I just asked her.”
Twain added while getting choked up that she was honored.
“When she sent me the song, I thought, ‘yeah, this is a hit song, and thank you for thinking of me, and I’m privileged to be a part of it.’ That’s how I felt.”
Ballerini was grateful for Twain’s kind words.
“I could cry. I’m not going to, but I could. Thank you for saying all of that.”
When asked what would happen from here, the two women agreed that they are down for anything, including more collaborations, an album, and possibly touring together.
That is one show we would surely not miss!
