Several different foods have gained a cult-like following from the masses over the years. Among these delectable guilty pleasures include bacon, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, and Red Lobster’s Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Of course, the list would also be remiss not to address the pillowy soft Texas Roadhouse rolls paired with their addictive accomplice, cinnamon butter.

Food is a big part of our culture and how we connect. On that note, people like a good challenge. From the annual patriotic hot dog eating contests to the boneless wing challenge, there’s just something about pushing the envelope and figuring out your limits. How many Texas Roadhouse Rolls do you think you could confidently consume? Well, this group of friends decided to tackle that challenge head-on and push to beat the record standing at 22 baskets and 88 rolls. See how they did below.

Challenge Winners On a Texas Roadhouse Roll

What could serve better “Friday Night Vibes” than a feast at Texas Roadhouse with your favorite buddies? Well, turning the evening into a challenge of course. That’s what one young man set out to do with the help of a handful of others. Although the previous record stood at 22 baskets and 88 rolls, their sights were set much higher than that. A collection of Snapchat posts shared by one member of the group, “Barnes,” detailed the highs and lows of the challenge.

As with any other food challenge, the key is pacing yourself. The squad got off to a really solid and steady start. It didn’t take long for them to feel the effects of the bread and butter sinking their stomachs, however.

As the dinner proceeded, many of the guys called for time-outs and some even admitted defeat. The food comas were made worth it, though, when they emerged the new champions of the challenge. As their record currently stands, the group came out victorious with a total of 92 rolls.

What do you think, if you tackled the challenge with your squad, could you do better?

Twitter Reacts

Twitter tends to bring out both the best and worst in people, so it’s not at all surprising that the reactions to the challenge were rather mixed.

@satisfiedfather wrote: “Some people are dying of hunger, SAD!”

Still, others remained impressed by the feat and saw nothing wrong with a pair of buddies bonding over a meal.

@SenorNickyP joked about the meal’s nutritional value (or lack thereof): “227 calories per roll with cinnamon butter. That’s 20,884 calories. Light work.”

Some Canadians in the comments didn’t even know that cinnamon butter exists.

All in all, we wouldn’t get our hopes up seeing this challenge getting added to the Olympics. What a sight that would be, though!
