If you needed any more convincing about just how epic 1883 is going to be, you have come to the right place.

If you haven’t heard by now, 1883 is the upcoming prequel series to Paramount Network’s hit show, Yellowstone. And it is going to be absolutely huge.

The show takes a look back at the Dutton family before they took over control of Yellowstone Ranch, the largest contiguous ranch in the U.S. The show was officially announced back in February of this year during the Super Bowl.

1883 most certainly won’t be lacking for any star power in the acting department. We found out just a couple of months ago that country music stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will be starring in the Yellowstone spin-off. They will be playing two of the main characters on the show in James and Margaret Dutton. Alongside them will be the likes of Hollywood star Sam Elliott and LaMonica Garrett.

We have known for a while that 1883 was going to be big, we just didn’t realize how big. LaMonica Garrett shared a one-minute and forty-five-second teaser clip to his official Instagram account on Sunday night.

“@1883official Extended Teaser. Today, the cast and crew saw the 1st 2 episodes at a theater in town,” Garrett informed his fans on social media. “Words can’t describe how proud and grateful I am to be a part of this epic journey in storytelling.”

A lot of Work and Logistics Go Into Making ‘1883’

As you can tell from LaMonica Garrett’s excitement, 1883 looks like it has all the right stuff to follow up in the footsteps of Yellowstone and be successful. To put things into even more perspective, the actor went into detail about just how truly large of an undertaking this show really is.

“The undertaking that goes into putting together a television event like this is massive,” Garrett said. “Traveling state to state, city to city [with] 400+ cast and crew, a heard of 60+ cattle, horses, 26 wagons, etc. Filming primarily outside in the harshest weather conditions from Texas summers to Montana winters.”

However, it’s this exact kind of undertaking that makes shows like Yellowstone and 1883 stand out from the rest of the pack.

“It’s as difficult as it is ambitious. There’s a reason why these types of productions aren’t attempted much in television. But what I saw on that screen today was truly beautiful. Can’t wait for the Dec. 19th Premiere night. #1883tv A #yellowstonetv Origin story.”
