We’ve got good news for all of you Yellowstone and 1883 fans out there. LaMonica Garrett and the rest of the 1883 cast are back in Texas to continue filming.

If you haven’t heard about 1883 by now, then you are missing out. It’s the new prequel series to the hit Paramount Network show, Yellowstone. So far, it has smashed its highest expectations. So, if you’re looking for a new show to get into now that the fourth season of Yellowstone is in the books, this is the one.

The show, which so far has three out of ten episodes released, follows the Dutton family once again. This time, it takes a look at the Duttons before they took over control of Yellowstone Ranch. One of the best parts about 1883 is all of the star power in the show. That includes names like Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Sam Elliott, and LaMonica Garrett.

Speaking of Garrett, the 46-year-old actor is actually a former slamball player. You may recognize him from his roles in other big-time TV shows. He starred as Sheriff Cane on Sons of Anarchy from 2011 to 2014. In addition, he was also in Designated Survivor and he played Mar Novu/Monitor and Anti-Monitor in the Arrowverse.

However, Garrett’s full attention is back on 1883. The fan-favorite made an appearance on News Nation Now on Monday after arriving back in Texas. He along with the rest of the cast have plans to begin shooting this week.

“Yeah, we’re right back in the saddle,” Garrett said with a smile. “Start the new year out right.”

A Lot of Work and Planning Go Into Making ‘1883’

By the looks of it, 1883 has all of the makings to follow up in the footsteps of Yellowstone‘s success. After it first premiered back in December 1883 became the most-watched premiere ever on the streaming service.

It goes without saying, but there are a lot of excited fans out there right now. There are currently three episodes out and seven more to go in Season 1. LaMonica Garrett helped drive that excitement after hyping up the show on social media.

“The undertaking that goes into putting together a television event like this is massive,” Garrett said in a previous Instagram post. “Traveling state to state, city to city [with] 400+ cast and crew, a heard of 60+ cattle, horses, 26 wagons, etc. Filming primarily outside in the harshest weather conditions from Texas summers to Montana winters.”

“It’s as difficult as it is ambitious. There’s a reason why these types of productions aren’t attempted much in television.”
