1883 finally has a release date, and stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are excited. The country legends are doing some major acting work in the upcoming series, playing the two leads, Margaret and James Dutton.

1883 is a Taylor Sheridan created Yellowstone spinoff that follows this early generation of Duttons as they head west up to Montana for a new life. 1883 is in production, and now we finally know that it’ll premiere on December 19th this year. Therefore, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are both pumped.

“1883 premiering December 19 on @paramountplus.  We can’t wait!!!” Hill wrote in a tweet about the upcoming season. Tim McGraw posted the same exact tweet.

The two are clearly thrilled, and also expressed their excitement for getting the opportunity to act on the show in general.

Faith Hill and Tim McGraw Recently Expressed their Gratitude for their Roles on ‘1883’

“This is the opportunity of a lifetime,” said Faith Hill told Deadline. “The Duttons are a formidable family, and it is an absolute dream to bring such a strong female character like Margaret Dutton to life. I am humbled and honored to work with Taylor and his entire team.”

McGraw is equally as excited.

“This is truly a dream job. Taylor has found a way of storytelling that brilliantly creates these epic dramas and family sagas with so much depth and creativity,” he explained to the publication. “The Duttons are tremendous characters, and it’s so thrilling to be able to bring them to life. As a kid growing up riding horses, you think about dream jobs like this, and I am just so excited to work with this amazing cast and crew

1883 will also star Sam Elliott as the Dutton’s guide across the plains. Elliott is known for his work on A Star is Born, Parks and Rec, and many other films and series. He’s looking forward to 1883 because of the fact that it’s a western.

“It all starts with the writing, and Taylor Sheridan is a brilliant writer,” said Elliott. “I think the western genre speaks clearly to both of us. The classic struggles of man against man, man against nature and man against himself. It’s all there, in 1883, and I’m honored to be a part of it.”

The Show is a Part of a Growing Franchise

1883 is a part of a growing Yellowstone universe. Meanwhile, another series, Mayor of Kingstown, is also in the works. Mayor Of Kingstown stars Jeremy Renner, whose known for his portrayal of the Marvel superhero Hawkeye, and takes place in the same world as Yellowstone. However, the show is set in Michigan and follows a very different family.

According to studio heads, these shows are all part of a growing network of Taylor Sheridan-run shows, which should bring in a ton of viewers to Paramount. There’s plenty of exciting content coming this fall and winter for Yellowstone fans. A new teaser dropped by paramount shows that Yellowstone will come back on November 7th.
