Does Upcoming ‘Yellowstone’ Episode Title Confirm Rip’s Revenge-Fueled Rampage?

Just a little over one week is left until “Yellowstone” returns and (hopefully) all our questions are answered. Primarily, who survives that explosive Season 3 finale, and what Rip Wheeler and the ranchhands plan to do in retaliation.

Because there will, inevitably, be retaliation. We’ve seen it time and time again with the Yellowstone gang. Cross one of them, and you get hurt by all of them. But when it’s John, Beth, and Kayce Dutton’s lives on the line, the stakes rise even higher for the crew. And given how close Rip is to all three of those Duttons, he’s going to do everything he can to get back at the people who hurt his found-family.

We here at Outsider believe that one episode title in particular points to Rip’s revenge-fueled rampage. Episode 5 is called “Under a Blanket of Red,” per the Writers Guild of America West website. A blanket of red certainly seems to point to a whole lotta blood spilling out from the Dutton enemies.

The only surprise is how late in “Yellowstone” Season 4 this episode appears. If this is the moment that Rip starts taking out those who hurt the Duttons, why does it take him so long to do it? Rip is methodical only to a certain point and isn’t afraid to let his emotions help him get the job done. Especially if one of the Duttons dies right from the get-go in the Season 4 premiere, nothing should hold Rip back from taking out those who hurt everyone.

Do the Episode Titles for ‘Yellowstone’ Season 4 Point To Beth’s Fate?

Episode 3 also gives us a clue, however. The title reads, “All I See Is You,” which is definitely something we could see Rip saying to Beth. What if she’s in the hospital after the explosion and takes a while to die from her wounds? That could justify the gap in time, where her death in later episodes pushes Rip over the edge.

Plus, that would allow time for her to meet Carter, the new young character who ends up on the Yellowstone Ranch as a new ranch hand. Carter’s character description mentions how Beth brings him to the ranch so he can learn how to be a man. But how could she do that if she dies in the first episode? Perhaps they meet at the hospital and bond, and she asks Rip to take him back to the ranch to learn how to cowboy.

That would lead into the Episode 6 title, which is “I Want To Be Him.” We could easily see Carter wanting to be more like Rip, especially if Rip takes out Beth’s killers in Episode 5.

We’ll have to wait until Nov. 7 to see if any of our predictions come true, though. Until then, Outsiders.
