Does ‘Yellowstone’ Trailer Tease Jamie Betraying His Family for Adopted Father?

“Yellowstone” is finally offering fans a taste of season four.

And we’re living for it. The trailer starts by recapping the action we saw last season. John Dutton is shot down by gunmen in a van. Kayce Dutton is attacked in his office where he flips over the desk to try to defend himself. And a bomb explodes in Beth Dutton‘s office. “Yellowstone” fans are well acquainted with those scenes. They left us shocked in season three, and we’ve been rewatching them relentlessly since the season ended in hopes of finding some clues about the upcoming premiere.

But the trailer offers far more than just a recap of last season. For the first time, we’re also seeing clips from the upcoming season. Right after we see the recaps from last season, we hear Rip yelling “Don’t you die on me like this. You hear me!?” Then the trailer cuts to a seemingly emotionless Jamie Dutton sitting at his desk in his office. His eyes look a thousand miles away.

“Oh my God,” says Jamie.

The trailer continues to cut to several scenes of “Yellowstone” characters reacting emotionally to the attacks. We see violence, drama, and action. While the scenes play, we hear Garrett Randall, Jamie’s biological father, talking to Jamie.

“Fair. Moral. Those are words men invented to scare and shame other men from taking back what they’ve stolen,” says Randall.

We then see Jamie holding a gun. The clip is short but it looks like Jamie is scared and his hand is shaking. He looks resistant to even having to hold the gun. But he’s pointing it at someone.

“What about right or wrong?” asks Jamie.

“There’s no such thing,” replies Randall.

Does This ‘Yellowstone’ Trailer Mean Jamie Is Responsible For The Attacks?

The trailer certainly suggests that Jamie may be influenced by his biological father far more than what’s good for him. Many “Yellowstone” fans suspected that Jamie was responsible for at least one, if not all, of the attacks on the Duttons last season.

We all know how resentful Jamie feels of John Dutton having never been able to truly gain his acceptance or love. When Jamie found out that he wasn’t related to John by blood, and then met his biological father, he quickly spiraled into darkness. It’s easy to believe that Jamie may desperately attempt to attach himself to his biological father by acting out his father’s desire for revenge on the Duttons.

So, does this trailer reveal that Jamie is responsible for the attacks? The short answer is, we don’t know. The trailer reveals just enough to tease us, but not enough to spoil any of next season’s storylines. It looks like we’ll just have to wait for the ‘Yellowstone’ season four premiere this fall.
